What Customs Check does

You choose a type of check, enter the file details and indicate which documents you have. The tool immediately applies a series of checks and produces a report: score, blocking issues, points to review and recommended actions, downloadable as a PDF.

• Import / export file: a simple, jargon-free flow that works for any country
• DELTA IE (France), IDMS / AES / AIS (Belgium, Ireland), CDS (United Kingdom) and DMS (Netherlands) declarations
• H7 (e-commerce), EMEBI (intra-EU trade in goods, France) and ENS (ICS2) declarations

Where the rules come from

The checks are built from texts and guidance published by the authorities:

• The Union Customs Code and its implementing rules, in particular the data requirements for declarations
• Guidance from national administrations: French customs (DELTA IE, EMEBI), HMRC (CDS), Belgian, Irish and Dutch customs
• European Commission guidance on ICS2, the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) and low-value consignments
• Technical standards used in declarations, such as ISO 6346 for container numbers

Checks performed

• Formats: EORI and VAT numbers, 6, 8 or 10-digit commodity codes, customs offices, IOSS, CPC, container numbers
• Mandatory fields specific to each type of declaration
• Consistency between data: gross and net weight, invoice total and line details, procedure and direction of flow, countries
• System-specific rules: €150 threshold for H7, descriptions rejected by ICS2, Article 23 VAT deferment in the Netherlands, UK categories and CPC, EMEBI regimes
• Expected documents: invoice, packing list, transport document, proof of origin depending on the file

Each cross-cutting rule has a stable identifier, shown in the report, so a check can be traced and corrected precisely.

How the score is calculated

The score starts at 100. Each blocking issue removes 15 points and each point to review removes 5. A file with at least one blocking issue cannot score above 89. From 90, the file is considered good; between 70 and 89, it needs review; below 70, it needs attention. Simple tips do not affect the score.

The tool's limits

• Customs Check is not connected to the authorities' systems and does not file any declaration
• A good score does not guarantee that the declaration will be accepted or not inspected
• The tool checks the format of a commodity code, not the classification of the product
• It does not replace the advice of a customs broker or adviser in complex situations
• Regulations change: rules are updated, but there may be a lag behind the most recent texts

Your data

No data is sent to customs or to third parties. Uploaded files are stored privately and deleted automatically within 48 hours. The content of checks run without an account is erased after 72 hours; only the check type, score and issue codes are kept to measure how the tool is used. The database is hosted in the European Union. Details are in the privacy policy.
